The Mobile Media Specialist Association no longer accepts paid memberships. Instead, you can apply to be listed within your county page for FREE, with the option of upgrading your listing. Read on.

REQUIREMENTS TO BECOME LISTED
The business has changed over recent years and we have changed with it. We realise the days of expecting installers to pay membership fees without receiving something tangible in return are over.

We also recognise that the way installers work has changed. Mobile 'fitters' were once considered inferior to those 'technicians' with retail premises and an on-site workshop, but it doesn't necessarily follow. Many customers today expect an installer to go to them, and with the costs of running premises often too high to sustain, many installers have no option but to go fully mobile. We recognise that does not necessarily have any bearing on the quality of their service and workmanship, any more than a fixed workshop guarantees a better service.

That said, premises show hard evidence of an investment and a commitment in the owner's business, and customers need to know they are dealing with a reputable, trustworthy technician. Thus, we have set in place a number of requirements that must be met by all prospective members of our listing before we will accept their addition to our network. The list below summarises the main requirements.

• You will need to provide the MMSA with a 'bricks and mortar' address and publish in our listing at least a PO Box address Customers need to be confident in who they are dealing with. They must know they have a verifiable route to contacting you if they need to.
  
  
• You will need to provide us with two 'referees' or references These will need to be two persons from within the industry (not both from the same company), such as a sales manager or area manager of a product supplier, or a product/technical manager. It can also be the owner or principal of a car electronics dealership that we already list. If you have a relevant NVQ, we require only ONE referee.
  We reserve the right to request alternative 'referees'. If you are unable to supply suitable 'referees', we can arrange to visit, at your cost, in order to directly make a decision on the suitability of your application. Please do not view this as a 'test' - someone will simply come along and spend time observing you at work and generally getting to know you. Ensuring the quality and trustworthiness of those on our network is in everyone's interest.
  
  
• We will require evidence of some industry training This could be a certificate of attendance to at least TWO or more MMSA-recognised installer training sessions (we don't recognise them all, as some are no more than sales talks!), or a single more formal certificate of achievement or qualification, such as an NVQ.

YOUR LISTING & OTHER OPTIONS
There is no cost to be listed on our website, but you must of course meet the criteria above, and inclusion is always at our discretion. We reserve the right to make enquiries as to the suitability of your company to be listed/continue to be listed.

• Your free listing This includes your address, a phone number and a fax number (if applicable). We can also include any specialisations (mobile service, commercial vehicles etc.). It does not include a web link or email address.
  
  
• Enhanced listing option - link to your web site The benefit of a strong, relevant link from our web site (Google Pagerank 4, 450-550 daily unique visits) to yours. The cost is £60+vat per annum (just £5 a month).
  
  
• Enhanced listing option - a web page dedicated to your business We have built dedicated pages for several of our members (this shop page for example). This gives your business a higher profile on our web site and is ideal if you do not have a web page of your own, or have one that gets little or no traffic. It can include your web address, if you have one, or an email address. We will build your shop page for a one-off £30+vat. There is a yearly fee for hosting your page of £60+vat (the hosting fee is reduced to £30 if you also opt for the link to your own web site, i.e. £90 total per year).

• InCar Expert Network Membership plaque (as above). White aluminium plate, printed with the InCarExpert logo, mounted on a simulated walnut base. States "Accredited Member" and is signed by the Association's Secretary. £50 (includes VAT and P&P)

• Self-cling InCar Expert Installer Network sticker. 17cm x 17cm. Clear background with InCar Expert Installer Network logo in red and blue and 'Accredited Member' in white. Non-adhesive, self-cling PVC allows sticker to be safely mounted on the inside or outside of windows, or on to metal panels (vans, cars). Five (5) stickers for £2 (includes VAT and P&P)
